Platform Securities partners with ShareGift for the benefit of Birmingham based charities 

ShareGift is a unique charity which specialises in accepting donations of shares and related cash entitlements. ShareGift will accept share donations of any size, regardless of value. From these donated shares ShareGift generate funds to give to charities, guided by the suggestions of donors and supporters. To date, ShareGift has donated almost £25 million to over 2,400 charities (  

Platform Securities is proud to offer key support to ShareGift as their primary custodian, holding over three thousand lines of stocks on their behalf at any time, and processing thousands of share transfers for ShareGift each year. Platform Securities provide all their services to ShareGift free of charge. In recognition of this support, ShareGift recently chose to support a range of charities local to the Birmingham area, as suggested by Platform Securities staff.

This year ShareGift are pleased to announce that charitable distributions, totalling £35,000, will be submitted to the chosen charities in time for Christmas with each charity receiving £5,000.  David McIntosh, Head of Operations at ShareGift said “As always we are delighted to make another round of donations to charities suggested by Platform Securities staff, particularly with this focus on local charities in the Birmingham area. Platform’s generous donation of time and services as our custodians, and the continuing hard work of Platform’s staff in administering our portfolio, is vital to what we do”

Commenting on the donations Nigel Reynolds, CEO Platform Securities, said “The fantastic and continued generosity of ShareGift in inviting staff to suggest local charities close to their hearts is very much appreciated. All of the charities have a strong local presence and the donations will make a significant difference to them and the local communities that they serve.”

  • Walsall Breast Cancer Support Group – Registered Charity No: 515463                                                                                                 
  • Midlands Air Ambulance – Registered Charity Number: 1143118
